Sue Walker had a long professional career working as a teacher working with children between the ages of 4 and 13 for thirty-five years. Prior to signing up as a Trustee it was on a school visit with some older pupils to Cherry Trees that she was inspired by the tremendous work going on and by the dedicated, welcoming and committed staff.

On retirement Sue was invited to become a Trustee at Cherry Trees. Having worked in our local community she was aware of our work and her own son even took part in sponsored swims for Cherry Trees while at school himself! Since becoming a Trustee her involvement has been on the Health & Safety Committee and in supporting the care team as well as being our lead Trustee for Safeguarding.

"Cherry Trees is a truly inspirational and happy place where everyone is working towards creating a wonderful environment and a wealth of new and stimulating opportunities for the children in their care. I feel privileged to be a very small part of such a wonderful place."
