Our house

Cherry Trees has 10 individually themed bedrooms decorated to a very high standard with murals chosen by the children. Themes included Friends of the World, Under the Sea, Woodland/Garden, Clouds, Safari, Fairy Tale and the peaceful Lilac Room. 6 of the rooms are single rooms, and 4 have the capacity for children to share if parents/carers and the children have a preference to share with their friend or sibling.

We have a range of creative, relaxing and stimulating areas at Cherry Trees including a state of the art sensory room, art room, holistic room, soft play, teenage den, lounge and a conservatory play room with a range of toys. We also have two enclosed gardens with swings, wheelchair roundabout, sensory/water play, Wendy house, Telly Tubby hill and sports equipment.

Cherry Trees is wheelchair accessible, with a ramp at the main entrance, lift, hoists in all of the downstairs bedrooms, bathroom and sensory areas and a wheelchair safe roundabout.

We have a large kitchen where our very talented Chef makes our fresh, nutritious meals from local produce and also runs cookery classes for our children encouraging them to try new foods and learn how to make simple but fun bakes or dishes.  As part of our maintenance we installed a brand new kitchen in 2018 and this also included a children's kitchen area, where they can learn to make a cup of tea, cook a meal and help themselves to breakfast in the morning.  We have two dining rooms where the staff and children enjoy eating their meals together and again the children can be involved with clearing tables, putting their plates away.

We can cater for all dietary requirements and our carers often work with children who may experience anxieties around food or with those on a self-restricting diet.

Fun times - what we get up to!

Enhancing the positive opportunities our children can participate in is one of our aims at Cherry Trees. We offer a variety of activities and experiences, including circus acts, PAT dog, art activities and visits from farmyard animals. In addition, we enjoy many trips out, particularly during the half terms and holidays, including visits to our local Hatchlands National Trust park and the local play park, bowling, Birdworld, festivals, shopping trips, theme parks, the cinema and the theatre.

Watch one of our recent outings to Woking Football Club's Laithwaite Stadium to see some of our children having fun HERE.

Our children are also encouraged to take part in many seasonal events including Easter egg hunts, Halloween parties and trips to the pantomime at Christmas. Some of these events take place within the local community, where our children have the chance to interact with families from the local area.

The activities on offer at Cherry Trees are for all our children to enjoy, so if your child requires one-to-one or two-to-one support to take part in outside events and day trips, we will ensure the appropriate care plan is in place to meet their needs.
